Transforming Leadership for Sustainable Development in Cambodia
20 April 2019
The UN Secretary-General paved the way for this initiative through his vision to make the UN Development System fit for purpose in the 21st century.
In Cambodia, the UN Country Team is re-designing the way they lead through the an innovative leadership programme – the SDG Leadership Lab – with the UN Development Coordination Office. The UN Secretary-General paved the way for this initiative through his vision to make the UN Development System fit for purpose in the 21st century. This vision sets an imperative to ensure that a UN development system strongly emphasizes leadership, accountability, collaboration, efficiency and results as enablers to advance Agenda 2030 and its Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This requires UN field leaders to individually and collectively recalibrate and enhance knowledge, skills and capabilities across critical areas such as strategic collaboration, integrated analysis, foresight and risk management; as well as advocacy and messaging on sustainable development; and technical expertise on emerging frontier issues.
